Forehead Thermometer

Children are a real blessing to the people of the earth,

and as such having a forehead thermometer  is a good idea. Children can provide so much joy and laughter for parents and friends, and often they can even give some unique insight into difficult or controversial situations. So when they get sick, it is no wonder that people become so worried, as children are something to cherish and love. This is why having a forehead thermometer can help you and your children to rest easy.

Forehead ThermometerThe traditional thermometer was really the forefather to the forehead thermometer. Traditional thermometers were great to have in their time, but today, they are really out-dated and obsolete. The main problem with traditional thermometers is that they take a long time to take an accurate reading of temperature, and this can be a real problem when you have a sick kid being unruly. Another reason that traditional thermometers lacked was easy hygiene. Modern forehead thermometers are much more hygienic, as they are not required to be placed into the anal cavity (buttocks) or into the mouth. This meant that every time the temperature of someone was taken, the thermometer had to be sanitized, usually multiple times per day. Obviously this was irritating, but as said before, it was a very good thing to have in those days. A final problem with traditional thermometers is that the best ones were made with mercury, and if the child decided to bite too hard, or it somehow broke inside the buttocks, you could have a real problem on your hands, as mercury is toxic to people. You can see how the forehead thermometer is a nicer thing to have.

Forehead ThermometerSo let’s take a closer look at the forehead thermometer. The first thing to know is that there are a few basic types. The first uses special strips that you place against the forehead for about 30 seconds. These strips are made with liquid crystals which change colour depending on the temperature. When you place it into the reader, the reader then tells you how hot your child is. This is a good idea, except that you need to continuously buy the strips, meaning you are always paying money into it. The other option would be the infrared forehead thermometer. This one uses a special infrared laser and reads the blood vessels in your forehead or, in this case, often the temple area. It takes usually just a few seconds, but gives an accurate reading. It is also a little more expensive than the strip version, but you don’t need to keep buying strips for this forehead thermometer.

In all, the forehead thermometer is a really good tool to add to your fever fighting spectrum of devices. They are perfect for sleeping or irritable children, as they are non-invasive and won’t make him or her feel more uncomfortable. They take accurate readings in a new and high tech way, and you don’t have to worry about mercury spilling down their throats.
